VII FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME
The Seventh Framework Programme is the European Union main instrument to finance the research developed in Europe during the 2007-2013 period.
The total budget available to the EU for these seven years amounts to more than 50,000 million euros, which together with the intended by the EURATOM program (2,700 million Euros) for the same period, an increase over the Sixth PM, 41% at 2004 prices and 63% at current prices.
PARTICIPATION
Legal entities may participate (R & D centers, universities and industry, SMEs and individuals) of all Member States and third countries (with different rules of engagement).
ESTRUCTURA
It consists of 4 main sections, called programs, but one fifth referred to nuclear research.
Budget: 32.413 million euros.

The activities to be developed are the priority line in Environment and climate change.
• Pressures on environment and climate
• Environment and health
• Natural hazards
Sustainable resource management
• Conservation and sustainable management of natural resources and biodiversity ratifícales
• Management of marine environment
Environmental Technologies
• Environmental technologies for observation, simulation, prevention of deterioration, damage mitigation, adaptation, recovery and rehabilitation of both natural and man-made.
• Protection, conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage
• Assessment, verification and testing technology
Observation and assessment tools of the Earth
• Ocean observation systems and land, methods of environmental monitoring and sustainable development
• Forecasting methods and assessment tools for sustainable development
In partnership with European Technology Platforms, will pay special attention to technologies related to water supply and sanitation, sustainable chemistry, construction and forestry. The socioeconomic dimension will influence their development, market penetration and subsequent implementation.
IDEAS PROGRAMME

• The research potential of convergence regions (370millones €)
• Support and coherent development of research policies (70 million €)
• International cooperation (185 million €)
Period. 2007-2013
Technology platforms represent the scientific and technological symbiosis between business, academic bodies and society in general.
This instrument was first promoted by the Commission since 2003, and among its main objectives is to involve companies in the research effort and the private sector to fund 2 / 3 of the budgets for research. Thus, the European Commission established a useful mechanism to stimulate important areas where technology and development are the core challenges to solve economic, sociological and / or social.
-Objetives
Stimulate the efficiency of investments in research and development, accelerate innovation and remove barriers to the growth of the European Research Area.
The European Technology Platform should be seen as a major initiative, transnational, pan-European mission-oriented, aimed at strengthening Europe's capacity to organize and promote the process of innovation.
-Members
• Public research organizations (universities, public schools, etc. ..)
• Large and small enterprises
• Group communication experts and scientific disclosure
• Financial Community
• civil society groups, etc. ..
-Operating Platforms
There are currently more than 30 European Technology Platforms in various development practices. The topics are diverse:
Materials
Chemistry
Steel Technology
Food
Road transport
Fuel Cells
Water
