The purpose of this technical report is to provide practical guidance and recommendations on the management of problems associated with the presence of pharmaceuticals in drinking water, taking into account the scientific knowledge and evidence available. The report highlights the importance of giving priority to this emerging problem in the general context of the safe management of water, including microbiological and chemical hazards that threaten drinking water safety.
