This report is one of the first to attempt an all-European assessment of the state of inland surface waters prepared as part of the overall environmental Dobris assessment. It aims at providing a detailed overview for use as a basis for implementing general measures to improve the environmental state of rivers and lakes, and to identify areas with environmental problems.
