This volume combines the papers that were presented orally at the six workshops of the symposium, organized by UNESCO and the Académie de l’Eau (Water Academy) of France, as well as and the abstracts of the papers accepted for poster presentations. The symposium represented an opportunity to assess the status of urban water systems in various settings around the world and to explore various promising approaches, proposals and technologies.
