[Progress in the privatization of water-related public services: a country-by-country review for South America]
In the present document - an updated version of the report "Progress in the privatization of water-related public: to country-by-country review for South America "(LC/R. 1697/Add.1) of 2 of January of 1997- the recent events related to the participation of the private sector in the public services related to the water in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, the Peú, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela are examined . In the information that is provided on each country it briefly describes the situation of the participation in the sectors of potable water supply and cleaning, electricity, irrigation and drainage of the transport by routes of inner navigation; statistical data also appear on those sectors.
